KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 6): Rivertree Group has been conferred the distinguished 2023 GreenRE Bronze Award by GreenRE Sdn Bhd. Following the commendation, Rivertree revealed its partnership with Greenshift Solutions Sdn Bhd, offering property buyers an option to rent out their roofs for solar panels or invest in solar panels.

In a statement issued on Monday (Sept 4), Rivertree managing director Datuk Simon David Leong said securing the GreenRE Bronze Award is not just a testament to its hard work but also an affirmation of the company's dedication to pushing the boundaries of green and sustainable property development.

“Our investment of close to RM1 million in sustainability initiatives shows our stakeholders that we are vocal advocates and active participants in this green revolution. In view of this, we are now actively in discussion with the appropriate partners about potential areas of collaboration regarding renewable energy projects that will align with the National Energy Transition Roadmap, which was recently announced by Rafizi Ramli, Malaysia’s Minister of Economy, on July 27, 2023.” said Leong.

Subsequently, Rivertree announced its memorandum of understanding with Greenshift Solutions to provide property buyers a choice — either to rent out their roofs for solar panels or to invest in solar panels. This initiative will allow owners to generate additional revenue in the short term and provide improved rental returns in the long term, particularly for suppliers and companies targeting the European and American markets, according to the statement.

“Our alliance with Greenshift Solutions is a reflection of our long-term vision. As a developer, embracing sustainable and green development is imperative for our continued success. Together with Greenshift Solutions, we are set to redefine the norms and set new industry benchmarks,” said Leong.

Rivertree is also in talks with Greenshift Solutions about potential collaborations for ongoing and future projects. Going forward, the group will target new property development projects in prime locations such as Gombak, KLCC and Mont’Kiara.
