KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 25): S P Setia Foundation, a charitable arm of property developer S P Setia Bhd, has continued to support the communities in need by delivering additional aid to assist the B40 community and veterans, as part of its Sincerely Setia Healthcare and Well-Being Assistance Programme.

This is the continuation of the foundation’s past contribution in February this year, according to S P Setia’s statement on Friday (Aug 25).

It said the initiative provided food and hygiene kits, as well as wheelchairs to hospitals and non-governmental organisations.

“The initiative aims to improve the well-being of patients undergoing prolonged medical treatments, and veterans of police and army forces who face mobility and health issues,” it said.

S P Setia Foundation has provided 750 sets of food and hygiene kits to Hospital Sultan Idris Shah Serdang and Hospital Shah Alam, with toiletries contributed by Amari Kuala Lumpur.

Meanwhile, through its National Heroes Assistance initiative, S P Setia Foundation also donated wheelchairs to Persatuan Kebajikan Bekas Anggota Skuad 69 Polis Diraja Malaysia (SKUAD 69) and Persatuan Veteran ATM Negeri Selangor (PVATM Selangor), to assist veterans of police and armed forces.

In February, S P Setia Foundation contributed food and hygiene kits valued at RM120,000 and wheelchairs to three hospitals — Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya (PPUM), Hospital Canselor Tuanku Mukhriz (HCTM) in Cheras, and Hospital Shah Alam — benefiting a total of 559 families.

The group said its charity arm S P Setia Foundation remains committed to positively impacting society and building a brighter future.

Shares in S P Setia closed down half a sen or 0.6% to 83 sen on Friday, valuing the group at RM3.39 billion. Year to date, the counter has risen by 36.07%, from 61 sen.
