KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 22): 168 Park Selayang, an upcoming mixed development located in Selayang, Kuala Lumpur, on Tuesday (Aug 22) announced Village Grocer as an anchor tenant for its community mall component.

Comprising residential and retail components, 168 Park Selayang is a white knight development project located along Jalan Kuching in Selayang. The development’s two-storey retail mall offers 118 commercial units and a total lettable area of 235,500 sq ft, with Village Grocer occupying 20,558 sq ft and eyeing to open its doors in 3Q2024.

“168 Park Selayang is delighted to have Village Grocer as our anchor tenant and this aligns with our goal to upgrade Selayang’s overall image and attract more patrons to visit the community mall... Village Grocer’s presence will not only enhance the shopping experience but will also solidify our position as a hub of convenience, comfort and community engagement,” said 168 Park Selayang CEO Edward Lum in a press release.

In the same statement, group executive director of The Food Purveyor Ivan Tan said that Village Grocer is committed to serve the Selayang community with high-quality products.

“What particularly drew Village Grocer to 168 Park Selayang was its strategic proximity to KLCC and the project is becoming Selayang’s most significant development. When we were presented with the community mall’s design which incorporates an extensive resort-like facility within the building, we were genuinely impressed. This design offers Village Grocer’s customers to not just do their grocery shopping but to have a comprehensive experience, allowing them to dine and unwind with the diverse range of shops available at 168 Park Selayang,” he added.

Meanwhile, Lum said that 168 Park Selayang will be announcing more prominent and international brands of the mall next month.

In the statement, 168 Park Selayang also announced the soft launch of its 49-storey Block B serviced residence, which is set to be the tallest building in Selayang. As of July 2023, over 90% of Block A’s 477 units have been sold, while Block C is fully sold out.
