KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 9): Applications for new subscription quotas under the Green Electricity Tariff (GET) programme will reopen on Aug 11, 2023, from 11am to 5pm, said the Energy Commission.
In a statement on Aug 7, the commission said the GET programme is a subscription-based solution catered for eco-friendly consumers and organisations with environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals to power homes and businesses with green electrons from renewable energy (RE) sources.
The Energy Commission said consumers subscribed to the GET programme will be exempted from the Imbalance Cost Pass-Through (ICPT) charges for the total green electricity consumed from RE sources (limited to the number of GET blocks subscribed).
In addition, it said those subscribed to this programme will also be awarded an internationally recognised Malaysian Renewable Eergy Certificate (mREC), which will be issued at the end of the calendar year to certify the total green electricity consumed throughout the subscription period.
A hybrid briefing session by the Energy Commission on the GET programme was held on Aug 8 from 9.30am onwards.
Organisations that are interested in learning more about this programme are invited to attend this session online via the following link http://tiny.cc/GETbriefing.
