KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 6): IGB Bhd CEO Tan Boon Lee talks about his plans for the group, while also preparing the future generation to take the company to greater heights, in our latest issue of City & Country. He also reveals being on the lookout for new opportunities both within and outside the country.

In the meantime, he is looking for older buildings within the city centre and its vicinity that are close to public transportation to repurpose. Also, a new project is taking form in Bangkok, Thailand, although details are still being fleshed out.

This issue also looks at the upcoming Holiday Inn Sepang-Airport in Kota Warisan, Salak Tinggi, which will open its doors this quarter. The hotel will offer over 200 rooms for guests and targets frequent travellers, as well as international students from nearby Sunsuria City.

Setia Safiro, a joint venture township development between Setia Haruman Sdn Bhd and S P Setia Bhd in Cyberjaya, will see its latest commercial product — Bloc 17 — launched this month. This 57-acre township’s last residential parcel will also be launching soon.

Our quarterly Johor Baru housing monitor reveals property market improvement in the southern state’s capital in the first quarter of the year, thanks to the reopening of borders in April last year and the spillover effect of impending investments in the property market.

MRCB International is unveiling their Gold Coast development, 26 Vista, this month. The residential development comprises a high-rise apartment building and several townhouses.

We also bring stories from Singapore on a new redeveloped property called TMW Maxwell in Chinatown, and from the UK, which is battling inflation that is hitting families and renters hard.
