KUALA LUMPUR (July 21): Harvest Miracle Capital Bhd's managing director Choo Peng Hung has resigned due to other work commitments, the company's bourse filing on Friday (July 21) showed.

Choo, 50, does not hold any directorships in other public companies. He was appointed to the board of Harvest Miracle Capital — formerly Vortex Consolidated Bhd — in November 2017, before being redesignated as its MD in February 2018, according to the company's annual report.

Harvest Miracle fell into the red with a net loss of RM8.3 million for its financial year ended March 31, 2023, compared with a net profit of RM5.63 million it made in FY2022, mainly due to a provision of impairment loss on goodwill and as revenue dropped 21.14% to RM132.86 million from RM168.47 million. The previous year also benefitted from a bargain purchase gain on the acquisition of a subsidiary.

Primarily involved in information technology and property construction activities, the group diversified into the plantation segment recently.

Harvest Miracle shares closed unchanged at 10.5 sen on Friday, valuing the company at RM122.74 million.
