KUALA LUMPUR (July 20): Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd, a retail asset management group, has commenced a major redevelopment of Alamanda Shopping Centre in Putrajaya. The project, which commenced on June 20 this year, is expected to complete in the fourth quarter of 2024.

This is the shopping centre’s first major redevelopment project since its launch in 2004.

The redevelopment project will result in the expansion of the retail space of an approximate 50,000 square feet (sq ft) of net lettable area (NLA).

It will include the enlargement of the entertainment facilities, such as additional halls for the family-friendly cinema, expansion of the bowling area and the introduction of an adventure park at the Esplanade.

Currently, the shopping centre has a total gross floor area of 1.06 million sq ft and an NLA of 638,952 sq ft.

Additional enhancements are landscaping and layout design enhancement, which include replacing new materials, enhancing the carparks to optimise traffic flow and accommodate high volume visitors, among others.

“With this highly anticipated redevelopment, this mall will get the elevation it truly deserves. We are redefining its look and feel, infusing it with a fresh and sophisticated profile that breathes new life into its corridors. This transformative endeavour will elevate Alamanda Shopping Centre to a vibrant community hub, solidifying its position as an iconic destination in Putrajaya,” said Suria KLCC CEO and executive director Andrew Brien in a press statement on Thursday (July 20).

Owned by Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd, Alamanda Shopping Centre is currently managed by Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd.

The shopping centre is connected to the Damansara-Puchong Expressway (LDP), Maju Expressway (MEX) and PLUS Expressway. Located in Putrajaya, it serves a catchment of over 76,000 working professionals and 147,000 students.
