KUALA LUMPUR (July 12): The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is seeking the public's help to locate Datuk Justin Lim Hwa Tat to assist in an investigation.

In a statement on Wednesday (July 12), the MACC said that the 47-year-old Lim’s last known address is 54, Jalan SS 22/27 Damansara Jaya, 47400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

Lim sits on the board of several public listed companies.

He was redesignated as the chief executive officer of Johor-based Sersol Bhd on June 15, from his earlier role as the managing director, following a change in the company’s corporate structure.

About a week ago, Sersol was served with a court order that restrained Lim, along with its executive chairman cum managing director, an executive director, and five independent directors from exercising their powers.

It is worth noting that the executive chairman and managing director is the father of Lim, being Datuk Lim Tiong Siang.

The filing said that the ad interim order issued by the High Court is valid until July 17, when an injunction application is fixed for hearing and an originating summons is fixed for case management.

The injunction application and originating summons were filed by Sersol’s independent director Leong Lup Yan, 53, and executive director Tan Fie Jen, 57. Leong and Tan commenced action against the company on June 23.

The duo sought a declaration that the undated resolution to appoint executive director Mohamad Sirajuddin Jali, 36, and independent director Ramesh Kanapathy, 54, on June 20, and another undated resolution to appoint independent directors Tunku Azlan Tunku Aziz, 54, and Muhammad Syazni Mohd Zaki, 33, on June 22 are null and void.

Leong and Tan also sought an order that Sersol will rectify the company’s register of directors within seven days from the date of such an order, and any other relief that the court may think just and expedient.

Sersol was served with the originating summons and injunction application on June 27.

Notably, Lim is also on the board of SMTrack Bhd as an executive director, where he was appointed to the board on Jan 7, 2022.

According to a bourse filing on June 27, Lim resigned from the board of Computer Forms (Malaysia) Bhd as an executive director due to differences in opinion with the management.

Sersol shares were unchanged at 12 sen each at the time of writing on Wednesday, giving it a market capitalisation of RM87.77 million.

SMTrack was half a sen or 16.67% lower at 2.5 sen, with a market value of RM24.83 million.

* The current owner of the home that bears Justin's last known address has reached out to The Edge to clarify that his family had sold the property in 2002.
