KUALA LUMPUR (July 3): ITMAX System Bhd has bagged a contract worth RM40 million from Segamat Specialist Hospital Sdn Bhd (SSHSB) for the design and provision of smart healthcare systems services for a hospital in Johor.
In a filing to the stock exchange, ITMAX said this project marks its entry into the private sector, where it will also provide mechanical and electrical engineering works and smart systems for the hospital located in Segamat.
“We are increasing our presence within the integrated digital space by replicating the use of our smart city technology platform and expanding into the growing field of smart healthcare facilities industry. We will provide a smart healthcare platform that can be replicated for adoption by other healthcare facilities.
“The implementation of these smart systems is expected to enhance the hospital’s operation efficiency and thus improve the overall experience of patients,” said managing director and chief executive officer William Tan Wei Lun.
He added that the group is optimistic that the foray into this niche sector will pave the way for future collaborations with other private healthcare providers.
