KUALA LUMPUR (June 28): PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia PLT (PwC Malaysia) announced Nurul A’in Abdul Latif as its new executive chair, effective July 1.
Nurul A’in will be replacing outgoing executive chairman Datuk Mohammad Faiz Azmi, who retires after 30 years of service, according to a statement on Wednesday (June 28).
“I am confident that she’ll bring her own brand of leadership to the role and the accounting profession as a whole, as the firm’s first female executive chair.”
“Nurul has extensive working experience across a wide range of clients, from the public sector to public interest entities as well as non-governmental organisations (NGOs).”
“Her championing of the firm’s key initiatives around sustainability, digitalisation, and upskilling will allow her to chart the way forward for the firm’s future growth,” said Mohammad Faiz.
Nurul A’in will join managing partner Soo Hoo Khoon Yean in leading the firm.
Prior to her appointment, she was the deputy executive chair as part of a leadership transition to the position.
She was also markets leader for PwC Malaysia from 2016 to 2022.
With 28 years of experience, she has experience working with various public-listed companies in Malaysia on audit and business advisory matters, as well as cross-border clients with a two-year stint in the UK.
Nurul A’in is currently a council member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
“I believe that there are many opportunities for us to come together to deliver sustained outcomes and make a positive impact for our clients, our people and our community.”
“Responding to, and changing, in the face of major shifts today, including the widening digital divide, the race to deliver on sustainability commitments, and a pressing need for greater accountability, will require us to share bold ideas, and work hand-in-hand with technology for lasting results.”
“I thank the firm’s partners for their trust in me, and I look forward to working with Soo Hoo to lead the firm,” added Nurul A’in.
