KUALA LUMPUR (May 16): Vinvest Capital Holdings Bhd was issued an unusual market activity (UMA) query by Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd, following a sharp fall in its share price and trading volume on Tuesday (May 16).
The counter plummeted 52.78% or 9.5 sen to 8.5 sen a share and became Bursa’s top sixth daily loser on Tuesday. Vinvest Capital was also the most-active stock on the local exchange, with 331.7 million shares traded.
Vinvest opened the day at 18 sen, its closing price on Monday, and settled at 16.5 sen by noon break on Tuesday. Shortly after the market resumed, the stock nosedived to 8.8 sen at about 2.54pm, and eventually dwindled to 8.5 sen.
Its highest trading activity was also in the afternoon, at about 2.30pm to 3.10pm.
“Investors are advised to take note of the company's reply to the above UMA query, which will be posted on Bursa's website under the company announcements [section], when making their investment decisions,” Bursa said in a filing.
