KUALA LUMPUR (April 30): Kluang Mall in the Kluang district of Johor started off in 2008, and since then has grown and established itself as a popular shopping mall in the Tier 2 town. Developed and managed by Tenaga Nusantara Sdn Bhd, Kluang Mall chief executive officer and executive director Tey Fui Kien believes strongly in the purpose of the mall, which is to bless the community.

But more than that, she believes the need to humanise the business, which came to the fore during the Covid-19 pandemic, which saw her making sure to take care not only of the shoppers, but also the retail tenants and the management team.

On top of that, with the use of data intelligence garnered from exit surveys of a thousand shoppers, the mall has been able to attract international brands such Uniqlo and H&M.

Future plans for the mall are to create a family-safe space, where children of all ages and abilities can mingle and interact safely, and also implement universal designs to cater to all users regardless of mobility issues.

This week's issue also highlights HIL Industries Bhd’s Phase 2 of Parkhomes @ Amverton Hills that is open for sale now, a story on Rehda Youth’s industrial building system tour, exploring the breakfast offerings of Jalan 9/62A in Bandar Menjalara, and news from Singapore.
