KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 9): AmInvestment Bank Bhd aims to achieve at least a 15% growth in trade value for its foreign investing services in the next three years.

This is against the backdrop of a partnership with EquitiesTracker International Sdn Bhd to jointly launch the Singapore stock market educational campaign as a value-added service for AmInvestment Bank's clients for its foreign investing services.

AmInvestment Bank chief executive officer Tracy Chen Wee Keng quoted findings from the bank's equity research team and said that over the past six months, they found that investors have started to invest overseas as a hedge against the depreciating ringgit.

"We believe that the stability of the Singapore dollar is a strong justification for investors to consider investing in the Singapore stock market. By launching the Singapore stock market educational campaign, we are convinced that we will see at least a 15% growth in trade value for our foreign investing services in the next three financial years," Chen said during the launching ceremony.

“Our record in November 2022 showed that out of the total traded value of RM171 million attributed to foreign investing services, trades on the Singapore stock market ranked fourth with a total traded value of RM25.7 million, or 15% of foreign investing services trades,” she added.

The Singapore stock market educational campaign consists of an in-depth stock education and market outlook for stakeholders, namely clients and the sales force.

Stakeholders will be introduced to the latest EquitiesTracker Singapore (ETSG) Tool, with AmInvestment Bank being the first broker in Malaysia to subscribe to this tool for the benefit of its stakeholders.

Powered by complex algorithms, the Singapore stock selector tool is the fundamental gateway to and provides full coverage of information on all Singapore stocks, such as price data, screeners, and analytics, including comprehensive real estate investment trust analytics and comparison tools.

The Singapore stock selector tool aims to create a level playing field between retail investors (at no cost to them), with access to extensive information and analytics that institutions use to make investment decisions.

Meanwhile, EquitiesTracker International CEO Alvin Vong said he is hoping to see a 20% increase in users for the ETSG after the launch of this campaign.

"It is important for us, EquitiesTracker International as an investment educational provider, as well as the partner of this Singapore stock market campaign, to conduct a series of hand-holding workshops along the way to educate AmEquities' clients with much-needed knowledge of the Singapore stock market," Vong added.
