KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 30): Petronas Gas Bhd (PetGas) said the incentive-based regulation (IBR) tariff for its Peninsular Gas Utilisation facility has been set at RM1.061 per gigajoules (GJ) per day for 2023, and RM1.063 for 2024 and 2025.
The tariffs were approved by the government through the Energy Commission for the regulatory period 2 (RP2), commencing from Jan 1, 2023 till Dec 31, 2025.
In a bourse filing, PetGas said the RP2 tariffs are not expected to impact its business operations during RP2.
“While the RP2 tariffs are expected to affect the group’s transportation and regasification business segment revenues during the RP2, both segments are anticipated to continue contributing positively to PetGas and its subsidiaries’ earnings,” it added.
PetGas also operates two other gas infrastructure assets with third-party access, namely the Regasification Terminal Sungai Udang (RGTSU) and the Regasification Terminal Pengerang (RGTP).
The IBR tariff for the RGTSU facility is set at RM3.455 per GJ per day, and for the RGTP facility at RM3.165 per GJ per day,
Shares of PetGas closed unchanged at RM17.12 on Friday (Dec 30), giving the group a market capitalisation of RM33.88 billion.
