KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 30): Gas Malaysia Bhd has said the current base average tariff in Peninsular Malaysia is maintained at RM1.573 per gigajoule (GJ) per day for users of its natural gas distribution system.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, Gas Malaysia said the tariff is based on the Incentive-Based Regulation (IBR) framework for the three-year period from Jan 1, 2023 to Dec 31, 2025.

Gas Malaysia said the adjustment would be effected at the rate of 3.8 sen per GJ per day through a rebate to its base average tariff in the next three years.

"Therefore, the distribution tariff under the IBR framework for all types of utilisations is RM1.535 per GJ per day for the period from Jan 1, 2023 until Dec 31, 2023," it said.

Gas Malaysia clarified that the tariff approval is not applicable to the sales of liquefied petroleum gas supplied in gas cylinder or in bulk supply.

Gas Malaysia's share price closed down one sen or 0.31% at RM3.26 on Friday (Dec 30), giving the company a market capitalisation of RM4.19 billion. The stock has gained 23% from RM2.64 on Jan 3.
