Megah Rise is a beacon of modernity in the familiar surroundings of Petaling Jaya’s Taman Megah. Featuring a contemporary residential tower and an exciting new retail space, the project with a gross development value of RM342 million is the only high-rise in the mature neighbourhood.

Developed by PPB Properties — the property division of PPB Group Bhd — Megah Rise aims to revitalise the area by offering a new contemporary lifestyle that is designed to complement the neighbourhood and the local community.

According to General Manager of Marketing and Sales, Cassendra Chong, “Megah Rise was specifically developed for the needs of Taman Megah’s local community with some of the largest residential units in PJ, which are perfect for multigenerational living.

“Meanwhile, the retail mall is crafted as a community hub for residents to reconnect and bond with their neighbours. We’re bringing back the beloved sports hall with six badminton courts; offering a variety of upscale tenants that complement, and not compete, with the surrounding businesses; as well as providing around 450 parking lots.”

This new development has been designed to celebrate family life while bringing together the old and new, as can be seen by Megah Rise Mall’s retro-inspired, industrial design that provides shoppers with a touch of nostalgia.

“The residential tower offers a mix of unit sizes to suit the different needs of families, and its facilities and amenities are created to benefit all ages,” Chong adds.

Premium, contemporary living spaces

Sitting on the last parcel of freehold land measuring 3.36 acres in Taman Megah, the 39-storey Megah Rise was launched in end-2017 and comprises 228 residential units, with eight units per floor.

The low-density property offers seven versatile layout types with built-ups of up to 1,747 sq ft and eight penthouse units, with the price starting from RM1,080 psf.

All the residential units come with fully fitted kitchens and bathrooms; air-conditioning units for the living and dining areas as well as the bedrooms; and water heaters. Notable fittings and fixtures include American white oak solid timber flooring for all the bedrooms, built-in kitchen cabinets by BUÉNOS, kitchen appliances by Bosch, sanitaryware by Villeroy & Boch and door fittings by Parasole.

For the personal enjoyment of residents, there are over 19 facilities in the tower, including a saltwater pool, spa, sauna, gym and six thematic sky gardens.

Limited residential units are still available for purchase, with the process of handing over those that have been taken up having started recently. “The purchasers are mainly professionals, business owners and retirees in their late thirties and sixties who bought the units for their own stays. They are affluent, mostly Chinese, and long-time residents of the neighbourhood or surrounding areas in PJ,” Chong notes.

She attributes the project’s success to the trust of its buyers and the property’s location. “First, our company is backed by a strong foundation that has earned the trust of our buyers. Not only that, Megah Rise’s location is very strategic with easy access to an array of conveniences, including shops, schools, healthcare and more.”

In terms of accessibility, the property is located near two LRT stations — Taman Bahagia and Kelana Jaya — and enjoys easy access to the NKVE, LDP and Federal Highway.

Megah Rise Mall

Located in the heart of Taman Megah’s commercial centre, the four-storey Megah Rise Mall is designed to be a community-centric neighbourhood mall with a net lettable area of approximately 142,000 sq ft. The mall will feature a premium grocer, al fresco and upscale dining experiences, shopping options as well as an air-conditioned multipurpose sports hall spanning over 13,584 sq ft.

Approximately 40% of the mall’s net lettable area is dedicated to F&B outlets. Reinforcing PPB Properties’ core in contributing to the community, a sizeable area will be gazetted to cater for international and homegrown brands, social enterprises and green activities.

On the ground floor, an approximately 115m paved walkway named #MegahWalk is designated to be pet-friendly, with al fresco dining areas dotting the path.

The mall’s anchors will be Village Grocer in Basement 1 and Michael’s Badminton Academy, which will operate the sports hall on Level 3. Other noteworthy tenants include Oomph, a new café and bar by GUÃNG Bar and Brew & Bread; Naj & Belle; Hong Kong-inspired cha chaan teng Kheng Wah; premium hotspot restaurant Dai Sei Hei; thematic café and bar Cage13; PIK Oyster Bar; Yat Yat Seng, a restaurant serving Ipoh delicacies; and dim sum and steamboat restaurant Dian Hou.

The mall will also be home to wine bars, hair salons, home improvement stores and wellness centres.

The developer’s goal has been to integrate the mall with the neighbourhood by providing upscale offerings that were not available there before as well as all the conveniences under one roof, together with a range of exciting community-centric events to foster community bonding.

Megah Rise Mall

As a GreenRE Gold-certified building, Megah Rise is well designed to enhance the value of what is already one of PJ’s most established addresses.

“The mature neighbourhood of Taman Megah with its prime location was the main reason for our first development in Petaling Jaya. It is also part of PPB Properties’ DNA as a community-centric developer to always strive to add value and create meaningful projects that are relevant to the surrounding community,” says Chong.
