KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 13): Sunway City Ipoh has started the handover of over 200 units to buyers of Sunway Onsen Suites’ first tower starting from Sept 23. The 24-storey serviced suite tower is part of the 31-acre (12.55-hectare) integrated development of Sunway Onsen Suites in Ipoh, Perak.

According to a press statement on Wednesday (Oct 12), the first tower was completed on Sept 14. Following a take-up rate of over 98%, Sunway Property will introduce two new towers in Sunway Onsen Suites in the first quarter of 2024 (1Q2024).
Sunway City Ipoh executive director Wong Wan Wooi said, “We attribute the success of Sunway Onsen Suites to its unique proposition that espouses health and well-being, green surroundings, and its strategic location within the multitude of amenities in Sunway City Ipoh, which provides convenience to residents.
The statement added that buyers of Sunway Onsen Suites will automatically become members of Sunway Property Pals+, the newly enhanced programme that benefits residents of Sunway’s developments — including sub-sale owners and tenants. The programme offers new conveniences and privileges for all, comprising Rent+, Care+, and Reward+.
Additionally, Wong also shared that Sunway City Ipoh has expansion plans worth RM4 billion “to support the city’s sustainable socio-economic growth”.
Sunway Medical Centre Ipoh, an eight-storey building, is currently under construction. The building, spanning across 3.37 acres of land, will have 260 beds and eight operating theatres, and is expected to be completed by 1Q2024. The first phase will include 187 beds, while the second phase will include 73 beds, with a gross floor area of 448,000 sq ft and over 650 car park bays.
Upcoming developments include a shopping mall in Ipoh, spanning more than one million sq ft in gross floor area, with more than 2,000 car parks. The mall will have a supermarket, a gourmet garden, a cineplex with 10 halls, a convention centre, a bowling centre with 32 lanes, an ice-skating rink, as well as rock-climbing facilities, among others.
The developer will also be building an education campus across four acres of land in Ipoh.
Meanwhile, the statement said Sunway Property is currently collaborating with Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh to upgrade Jalan Tambun from the North-South Expressway exit until the Taman Perpaduan Interchange. The project will cost about RM16 million, while Sunway Property is contributing RM8 million. The road is expected to be completed by mid-2023.
Sunway Property will also be launching an upcoming flexi-terraced development consisting of 168 double-storey units. The gated and guarded development will feature homes with built-ups ranging from 1,300 sq ft to 1,900 sq ft, and is expected to be launched in 2023.
