KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 1): Businessman Datuk Seri Tee Yam @ Koo Tee Yam has bought more shares in lingerie maker Caely Holdings Bhd, raising his shareholdings to 13.12% as of last Wednesday (July 27), from 11.4% previously.

According to Caely's filing with Bursa Malaysia, Koo's shareholding rose after he bought 4.5 million shares off-market, when former executive chairman Datuk Wira Ng Chun Hau was seen to have disposed of the same amount of shares, also in an off-market transaction.

This latest purchase puts Koo's 13.12% stake as the second largest held by a single shareholder in Caely, based on Bloomberg data, after Datuk Seri Goh Choon Kim's 21.05%.

Koo, who first emerged as Caely's substantial shareholder in May 30 with a 5.63% stake, has been steadily raising his shareholding in the past two months.

Koo’s daughter, Koo Chen Yeng, is an executive director at Caely.

Caely's shares closed half sen or 1.6% lower at 30 sen per share on Monday (Aug 1), giving the group a market capitalisation of RM77.5 million.
