KUALA LUMPUR (June 2): MQ Technology Bhd has appointed Datuk Nurul Hidayah Ahmad Zahid as its vice chairman effective Thursday (June 2).

Nurul Hidayah, 44, is the daughter of  Umno president and former deputy prime minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. 

Her working experience include serving as vice president of corporate communication (general manager) at Syarikat Perumahan Negara Bhd from December 2012 to April 2016, according to the group’s filing with Bursa Malaysia. 

Nurul Hidayah holds a degree in communications from Universiti Putra Malaysia and Masters in Business Administration from Lincoln University College. 

In a separate filing, MQ Tech announced the appointment of Chean Meng Hee as its new CEO and the redesignation of its chief operating officer, Tong Sian Shyen, as its managing director.

Both changes are effective Thursday. 

MQ Technology provides a rapid tooling and prototyping division, which develops molds, tools, dies, jigs and fixtures used in the manufacture of hard disk drives, automotive and medical industries. 

Shares in MQ Tech ended unchanged at five sen on Thursday, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM44.68 million.
