More than 600 original Star Wars action figures, along with some of the most sought-after collectibles from the epic movie series including replica Darth Vader and Boba Fett helmets, autographed lightsabers, two complete sets of "Power of the Force" coins and a Jabba the Hutt cookie jar, will go under the hammer at the Sotheby's Star Wars collectible online sale on Dec 11. The sale, to be held ahead of the Dec 17 release of the latest Star Wars movie, The Force Awakens, could fetch more than US$300,000 ($424,000).

All 175 lots of the Star Wars memorabilia with estimated prices ranging from US$100 to US$35,000 come from the private collection of 45-year- old Japanese designer, music producer and entrepreneur NIGO, who has spent decades amassing these toys and collectible items since Star Wars first hit the cinemas in May 1977. The Sotheby's "Return of the NIGO" sales will feature more than 50 variations of the Boba Fett action figure. Fett, who is one of NIGO's favourite Star Wars characters, is the mysterious bounty hunter ordered by Darth Vader to hunt down Han Solo in Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back.
