(September 23): For Shamshida Taharin, her husband Mohamed Azmin Ali is a man of principles, as well as professional, passionate, patient and prayerful, she told The Star today.“He is very passionate and concerned about the party’s outlook and the rakyat. Party comes first for him and he wants to work for the rakyat," the 49-year-old said.

Shamshida described Azmin as meticulous, organised and a person who liked order in the way things are done.

She attributed this trait to his training while pursuing a Masters of Education in Mathematics.

Despite his busy schedule as the Bukit Antarabangsa assemblyman and MP for Gombak, Shamshida said Azmin never failed to make time for his children, especially during their birthdays.

The couple have been married for 26 years and have six children, three sons and three daughters, aged between 12 and 24 years. Four of them are attending tertiary education.

“Birthday lunches or dinners are a must no matter how hectic his schedule," Shamshida told the paper, that he was a stern but caring father.

Shamshida, who holds a degree in finance, said she was happy in her role as a homemaker.

“I will handle the household matters as much as I can so he will not be worried about the family and children,” she had said.

Azmin will be sworn in as Selangor's 15th MB later today after the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, picked Azmin to replace Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim.
