KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 9): Global semiconductor equipment billings rose 28% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2014 to US$9.62 billion, according to the US-based Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI).
In a statement on its website Sept 8, SEMI said the billings figure was 5% lower quarter-on-quarter.
The data is gathered jointly with the Semiconductor Equipment Association of Japan (SEAJ) from over 100 global equipment companies that provide data on a monthly basis.
Meanwhile, worldwide semiconductor equipment bookings were $9.96 billion in the second quarter of 2014.
SEMI said the figure was 9% higher than the same quarter a year ago and 1% higher than the bookings figure for the first quarter of 2014.
