Taiwan based E.SUN Bank, which is expanding its presence beyond Taiwan, has recently ventured into Malaysia to strengthen its commitment to the ASEAN region. This move aligns with the bank’s core strategy for the ASEAN region, which focuses on expansion beyond Taiwan to countries around Asia. The new Kuala Lumpur Representative Office is situated at Exchange 106 @ Menara TRX, following the establishment of a similar office in Thailand.

With rapid economic growth in the ASEAN region and a shift in global supply chains, international companies and Taiwanese investors have shown increased interest in investing in these economies. Recognized as the top banking institution in Taiwan for four consecutive years, E.SUN Bank’s decision to establish a representative office in Malaysia is opportune. Led by E.SUN Bank Chairman Mr. Joseph Huang, the management team recently hosted a gala dinner in Kuala Lumpur to celebrate the grand opening of the Kuala Lumpur Representative Office. The event was graced by the Deputy Representative of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Malaysia, Mr. James Buu; the President of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Malaysia (TWCHAM), Mr. Lin Kai Min. Numerous influential Taiwanese businessmen also attended the event.

Chairman of E.SUN FHC and E.SUN Commercial Bank, Mr. Joseph Huang emphasises that E.SUN Bank has a strong global reputation and is highly trusted by Taiwanese businessmen worldwide since 1992. In his opening speech, Mr. Huang expressed high expectations for the new office. “Malaysia is an important member of ASEAN and the third largest economy in ASEAN. It has a well-established legal system, complete infrastructure, and a thriving electronics industry cluster, making it a key country for Taiwanese investment in Southeast Asia. Kuala Lumpur is the political and economic center of Malaysia. With the establishment of a representative office in Kuala Lumpur, it holds significant symbolic meaning for E.SUN’s Asian strategy.”
