The launch of HPE Malaysia's Discovery Centre

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has launched the Discovery Centre in Menara Suezcap 2 in Kuala Lumpur as a hub for businesses to foster innovation and engage in its tailored tech solutions.

With the current rapid rate of technological advancements, businesses may find it difficult to stay afloat unless they adapt to the new wave of digital disruption. The HPE Discovery Centre aims to assist in this challenge and support its customers with cutting-edge tech solutions.

"[The Discovery Centre] really shows our full solutions, from computation to data storage management and alliance partnerships, which is our whole goal of providing end-to-end solutions" says Sean Hoong, general manager for compute, data services, HPC and AI at HPE.

The centre will provide innovative products and solutions, hands-on demos, and share insights on how its technologies can support hybrid work and cloud services.

HPE has collaborative alliances with names such as Intel, Broadcom, Microsoft, Red Hat and Cohesity, as well as many other market leaders.

These partnerships enhance HPE's offerings, with each entity able to help with innovating strategic tech solutions to target a myriad of business challenges.

For instance, HPE's partnership with VMware of over 20 years has resulted in a complete portfolio of mobility, virtualisation and cloud solutions, helping to accelerate modernisation journeys.
The company has also collaborated with Nvidia to deliver extensive enablement programmes that focus on developing and deploying smooth artificial intelligence adoption for its customers within their cloud environments. These include AI acceleration workshops, skills development and certifications.

Before they are onboarded, HPE's technical solutioning team will be in contact with interested parties to map out the full scope of the company's intellectual property to understand the needs of the customers.

By finding targeted solutions, the team will be able to pick the most cost-effective option and craft a tailored proposal for clients to drive the sales cycle.

"We are not just a reselling party. Today, we are playing the role to enable our channel partners into the top leading technologies in the market today. And while partnering with HPE, you are opening the doors to access all the technologies that we have today," says Hoong.

One of the HPE Discovery Centre's featured innovative products is HPE Greenlake Platform and HPE's new acquisition of Morpheus, a hybrid cloud management platform that gives businesses a flexible, scalable and cost-effective way to manage their multi-cloud IT infrastructure.

The platform is versatile, bringing edge-to-cloud as a service to customers in a multi-cloud environment while maintaining the security and control of on-premise and private cloud infrastructures. It also allows for a proper environment for the migration of workloads from platform to platform.
This blend creates an environment for businesses to increase their adaptability to market trends and seamlessly integrate and manage on-premise as well as cloud resources.

If a company has many edge locations that are running workloads on a cloud, a problem will arise from the multitude of edge locations that are managing their duties in silos. To address this, HPE GreenLake Platform can form a single plane of connectivity so administrators are able to manage all locations in silos holistically.

When adopting a hybrid cloud, there are five things to consider: people, process, technology, workload and data. However, it is not that straightforward.

Among the challenges that typically come with adopting a hybrid cloud is the complexities that arise when integrating a structure that is different from an existing private and public cloud in an organisation.

Private clouds operate differently from public clouds. While the former have better cybersecurity measures, they cost considerably more than public clouds. Public clouds can be adaptable when it comes to scalability but private clouds allow a company more control over its own data.

The concept of hybrid clouds takes the best aspects of private and public clouds to enhance their capabilities, and HPE GreenLake excels in facilitating a smooth transition. By having both private and public clouds in its hands, the company will have the flexibility of scaling and range of management.

This means that top-notch cybersecurity defences will be able to cover a broader spectrum of the cloud environment without compromising the company's other needs, such as the agility needed to meet fluctuating demands.

Whether HPE GreenLake is deployed on premise or at the edge, it is a single operation model designed to provide a seamless hybrid cloud experience.

One of HPE's partners is Toyo Tires, an automotive company based in Japan that has capitalised on HPE GreenLake for a fully managed, end-to-end solution for its large-scale high-performance computing system. This has enhanced the company's capabilities and optimised its operations.

Thanks to HPE's partners such as Zerto, Veeam and Cohesity, HPE GreenLake is also able to offer disaster recovery solutions and leverage on its partners' expertise to meet diverse business needs.

For example, Zerto combines disaster recovery, backup and workload mobility into a single platform while Cohesity and Veeam provide snapshot-based backups as well as other data management and recovery set-ups at scale.
Additionally, HPE Greenlake includes a pay per use model, which means customers will only pay for the services in use with the option to expand in the future, which is in line with the Discovery Centre's aim to be cost-effective.

Partners and customers that have worked with the HPE GreenLake range include security analysts and technical architects but its use is not limited to tech companies and is sector agnostic. If an organisation is keen on adapting to the rapid developments in technology and maintaining a level of control, HPE GreenLake can devise the most suitable structure for its needs.

HPE also plans to host workshops, partner enablement programmes and hands-on activities soon to continue serving its clients with its resources and offers.

Those who would like to find out more about the offerings by the HPE Discovery Centre and GreenLake can register their interest to experience hands-on demos at here.
