KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 27): Yinson Holdings Bhd has made a lodgement with the Securities Commission Malaysia for the establishment of a perpetual sukuk wakalah programme of up to RM1 billion.

The sukuk wakalah programme has a perpetual programme tenure, which provides the group with flexibility to issue subordinated perpetual Islamic notes from time to time, said Yinson in a filing with Bursa Malaysia on Tuesday (Sept 27).

Proceeds from the issuance will be used for Yinson's capital expenditure, refinancing of existing or future borrowings, working capital, other general corporate purposes, and to defray fees, costs and expenses in connection with the establishment or issuance of the perpetual sukuk wakalah programme.

At Tuesday’s noon break, Yinson shares settled down one sen or 0.47% at RM2.14, giving the group a market capitalisation of RM6.53 billion.
