KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 23): Yee Lee Corp Bhd has secured the distribution rights of Japanese soft drink brand Suntory beverage for three years in Peninsular Malaysia.

According to its bourse filing today, Yee Lee said its unit Yee Lee Marketing Sdn Bhd had entered into a distribution agreement with Suntory Beverage & Food Malaysia Sdn Bhd to formalise the appointment.

Under the agreement, Yee Lee has been appointed as their authorised distributor to distribute Ribena and Lucozade range of products in Peninsular Malaysia excluding Pulau Langkawi.

The distribution channels include on provision, on premise, petrol convenience and other channels to be agreed from time to time and upon all the terms and conditions as stipulated in the agreement.

Currently, Yee Lee distributes Spritzer and Cactus bottled water, which are bottled by Spritzer Bhd.

The group manufactures cooking oil, margarine, shortening, corrugated paper cartons, crude palm oil, kernel and general line tin cans.

According to Yee Lee, the agreement shall continue in full force for a period of three years commencing today until Sept 22, 2019 unless it was terminated by either party.

"The agreement is expected to contribute positively to future earnings of the group," it added.

Shares in Yee Lee closed up one sen or 0.44% at RM2.28, for a market capitalisation of RM425.46 million
