KUALA LUMPUR (March 23): WCT Holdings Bhd's wholly-owned subsidiary, WCT Bhd, has bagged a RM440 million contract from the Ministry of Transport to undertake the proposed extension and upgrading of the Sultan Ismail Petra Airport in Kota Bahru, Kelantan.
In a filing exchange today, the construction company said the project entails the building work, landside infrastructure work, airside infrastructure work and all engineering work for the design, construction, supply, installation, completion, testing, commissioning and maintenance of the existing Sultan Ismail Petra Airport.
"The work under the contract is expected to commence in April 2021 and to complete in April 2024.
"None of the directors or major shareholders of the company or persons connected with them have any interest, direct or indirect, in the award of the contract," it added.
Shares of WCT Holdings ended half a sen or 0.84% lower at 59 sen, giving it a market capitalisation of RM836 million.
