KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 1): UPA Corp Bhd said its wholly-owned subsidiary has been informed that an inquiry will be held pertaining to the compulsory acquisition of land in Kuala Lumpur for the Mass Rapid Transit 2 (MRT2) Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya project.
According to a bourse filing today, UPA Press Sdn Bhd received a letter from the Kuala Lumpur Land and Mines Department Director-General's Office stating its intention to hold the inquiry under the Land Acquisition Act 1960.
The 0.4-hectare land features, among others, a factory building, passage way and a Tenaga Nasional Bhd substation.
"The company will submit a claim for compensation in accordance to the Act and attend the inquiry," UPA said.
UPA shares fell one sen or 0.48% to close at RM2.09, for a market capitalisation of RM162.14 million.
