KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 4): Tropicana Corp Bhd has promoted Lee Han Ming (pictured) as group chief executive officer with effect from today.
Lee will join group managing director Dion Tan in the senior leadership team, the property developer said in a statement.
“Under the guidance of Tropicana board members, together with Dion and Tan Sri Tan Chee Sing, the founder and group executive vice chairman of Tropicana, Lee will assume overall key responsibilities in driving the growth of the group, in particular to add more value to the quality and innovation of each project delivered,” the group said.
Lee, 55, a civil engineer by profession and with over 30 years of experience in the property sector, joined Tropicana in 2018 as the group managing director of the Project Division.
Prior to this, Lee started out as a design consultant in the UK and has held several key positions over the years in reputable corporations.
“Lee’s background and experience in the property industry has been a great asset for our group in the planning and development of our signature townships,” Tan said in the statement.
Tropicana has a total landbank of 2,344 acres, with an estimated RM80 billion gross development value.
In a separate filing withBursa Malaysia, Tropicana announced the appointment of Datuk Siw Chun a/p Eam, a former senator and Umno Padang Petani branch chairperson, as its independent and non-executive director.
This follows Hafez Mohd Hashim Razman Md Hashim’s resignation as independent and non-executive director due to work commitments.
Shares of Tropicana closed half a sen or 0.57% higher at 87.5 sen today, valuing the group at RM1.29 billion.
