KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 3): Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) said that effective from Jan 11, 2021, the Malaysian government-controlled utility's contractors will be required to use the digital certified true copy (DCTC) issued by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) for the Certificate of Registration of Contractors and Bumiputera Status Certificate submitted to TNB in the process of registration and renewal of vendors, pre-qualifications besides tender and quotation participation.

In TNB's announcement dated Dec 31, 2020 on its website, TNB said the use of the DCTC aims to replace the use of CIDB certified true copies made manually before.
 
"Failure to [adhere to] this compliance may result in the registration/renewal of vendors, pre-qualifications and tender/quotation participation [being] rejected," TNB said.

At Bursa Malaysia on Thursday, TNB's share price closed down 10 sen or 0.95% at RM10.42, giving the company a market value of about RM59.29 billion.

TNB's number of issued shares stood at 5.69 billion units.
