KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 4): Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) and Tenderin Sdn Bhd (Tenderin) are collaborating to set up Lapasar, one of TM’s ‘Go Digital’ initiatives to digitalise its procurement process.

Lapasar is an online business-to-business (B2B) procurement platform developed by Tenderin, a local start-up company that allows TM to purchase general office supplies for its business operations.

In a statement today, TM said Lapasar offers a comprehensive e-procurement online and on-the-app platform with real-time price comparison, including the ‘shopping-cart and checkout’ functions, commonly used in business-to-customer marketplaces.

Lapasar also provides TM with digital procurement capability which complies with its corporate governance, while increasing efficiency and convenience of its procurement operations within a controlled environment.

TM's Acting Chief Executive Officer Datuk Bazlan Osman said the collaboration demonstrates TM’s openness and willingness to support technology start-up companies like Tenderin by teaming up to test and refine digital solutions and innovations.

"By using Lapasar, we have reduced the cycle time for procure-to-pay and delivery processes by 80 per cent and eliminated the manual purchase order issuance and approval, while purchasing supplies online at cheaper prices has resulted in noticeable cost savings at our end,” he said.

He added that the move was in line with TM's Performance Improvement Programme 2018 to improve the company’s cash flow and increase its productivity.
