SINGAPORE (May 5): Tiger Airways posted 4Q earnings of $7.9 million, helping the low-cost carrier to achieve full-year profitability after four years of losses.
The airline posted a $18.8 million loss in fiscal 2015. For the fiscal 2016, Tiger recorded earnings of $282,000, compared with a net loss of $264.2 million.
4Q revenue rose 4.1% to to $179.3 million as load factor increased by 3.5 percentage points to 82.5%, even as yields remained the same.
Group expenses fell 5.5% to $164.8 million as fuel costs fell by 31.1%.
