SINGAPORE (Oct 12): Tiger Airways Holdings (Tigerair) carried fewer passengers in Sept 2015, falling 1.3% year-on-year (y-o-y) to 393,000.
The airline's passenger traffic declined 3.8% y-o-y to 730.1 million revenue passenger-kilometres (RPK), or the number of paying passengers booked on scheduled flights multiplied by the kilometres flown.
Capacity fell 3.7% to 893.2 million available seat-kilometres (ASK), or the number of seats on scheduled flights multiplied by the kilometres flown.
This led to a lower passenger load factor of 81.7%, down 0.1 percentage point y-o-y.
For the 12 months to Sept 2015, Tigerair carried fewer passengers of 5.1 million, down 4.4%.
Its passenger traffic declined 3.0% y-o-y to 9.5 billion RPK, while capacity decreased 6.3% to 11.6 billion ASK.
Passenger load factor stood higher at 82.1%, up 2.7 percentage points.
Shares of Tigerair ended flat at 31 cents.
