KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 18): TH Plantations Bhd has appointed Kuang State Assemblyman Datuk Abdul Shukur Idrus as its non-independent and non-executive director.

Abdul Shukor is also the Selayang Umno division chief and holds various positions in government-related firms, including being chairman of Felcra Training & Consultancy Sdn Bhd, said TH Plantations.

Abdul Shukur is also a director in two other government-agencies, Malaysia Co-Operative Societies Commission and Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority, said the plantation arm of pilgrim fund Lembaga Tabung Haji.

With Abdul Shukur’s appointment, TH Plantations now has two directors that are directly linked to Umno, the other being Datuk Amran Mat Nor, an independent and non-executive director who was appointed on Dec 1, 2011.

TH Plantations had on May 8 approved a resolution to remunerate its directors with fees and benefits amounting to RM1.27 million for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2017.

Listed on the Main Market since April 2006, shares in TH Plantations closed unchanged at RM1.10 today, giving the plantation firm a market capitalisation at RM972.24 million.
