KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 23): Messrs TGS TW PLT has been appointed as the new auditor of MyEG Services Bhd (MyEG), replacing Messrs Crowe Malaysia PLT which had served the company for more than 20 years.
In a bourse filing on Wednesday (Nov 23), MyEG said it has received a notice in writing on the same day from Crowe Malaysia on their resignation as auditors of the company pursuant to Section 281(1) of the Companies Act 2016.
The resignation will take effect from the date specified in the notice of resignation on a voluntary basis.
MyEG noted it considers the change of auditors to be in line with good corporate governance practices of upholding the level of independence as well as enable the company to benefit from the fresh perspectives and viewpoints of another professional audit firm, thus enhancing the value of the audit of the company and its group.
Subsequently, MyEG announced on the same day the appointment of TGS as MyEG’s auditor for the financial year ending Dec 31, 2022 and to hold office until the conclusion of the next annual general meeting of the company.
This after MyEG received the consent from TGS to act as the company’s auditor pursuant to Section 264(5) of the Companies Act 2016.
MyEG’s share price settled on Wednesday 0.63% or half a sen lower at 79.5 sen, bringing the group a market capitalisation of RM5.9 billion.
