KUALA LUMPUR (July 21): Sunway University has been ranked No.1 in Graduate Employability by Talentbank Group in its National Graduate Employability Index (GE Index), which gauges the employability of graduates of universities across Malaysia.
The index is based on the findings of a survey that polled the opinions of leading graduate employers such as Shell, Petronas, Microsoft, Shopee, IMB and Top Glove, according to Sunway University in a statement.
The employers were asked key questions such as their preferred universities, the number of graduates they hired from these universities, and whether employers will continue to hire graduates from the same higher education establishments they previously selected.
Sunway University said it received a 6-star rating for employability in several fields of study, including accounting, art and design, engineering, and hospitality management.
“I am delighted that Sunway University has been awarded Malaysia’s No.1 in Graduate Employability, making our graduates the preferred recruitment choice of the nation’s leading brands.
“This is a true reflection of the holistic education the university provides in ensuring our graduates are job ready and future proof, alongside the support and guidance curated by our experienced Sunway Career Services team in helping our students navigate their career pathway and become highly sought after by employers,” said Sunway University president and vice-chancellor Professor Sibrandes Poppema.
