SINGAPORE (April 12): Singapore stocks were trading slightly higher at noon with very little in the way of corporate news to drive individual stocks.
At 12.01pm, the Straits Times Index is down 2.79 points or 0.1% at 2,812.03. In the broader market, 410.4 million shares were traded, giving a value of $250.8 million. Gainers beat losers 163 to 132.
Interra Resource, Magnus Energy, Annica and IEV were some of the most active stocks.
Among the blue chips, CityDev rose 1.43% to $8.50, Jardine Cycle & Carriage rose 1.23% to $39.66 and SIA Engineering rose 0.84% to $3.61.
At the other end, Golden Agri-Resources lost 1.23% to 40 cents, Yangzijiang Shipbuilding lost 1.05% to 94 cents and HPH Trust lost 1.01% to 49 US cents.
iFAST rose 2.9% to $1.26 after announcing on Monday it had agreed to subscribe to 10.6 million new shares of Pecuniam for $1.27 million. Following the subscription, iFAST will own 21.47% of Pecuniam, making the latter an associated company. Pecuniam indirectly owns a 74.72% stake in iFAST Financial India.
YuuZoo fell 2.3% lower at 21.5 cents after announcing it has issued 15 million new shares at 19.3 cents each to Infocomm Asia Holdings for the acquisition of a 30% stake in the games company. The issuance values the acquisition deal at $2.9 million.
