SINGAPORE (Apr 9): Ian Ong, CEO of Samurai 2K Aerosol, is getting ready to enter the US market in a big way later this year. But he is not worried about a possible trade war. “We are a small business, they won’t disturb us,” Ong tells The Edge Singapore.

Samurai 2K, the best-performing IPO last year, has been reporting strong growth. For the half year ended Sept 30, 2017, earnings increased 330.5% y-o-y to RM6.4 million (S$2.2 million), or 6.44 sen a share. Revenue doubled to RM34.5 million. Its net asset value as at Sept 30 was 31.04 sen, up from 24.78 sen a year earlier.

Most of the company’s revenue comes from selling aerosol spray paint cans to motorcycle owners in Southeast Asia who are looking to give their two-wheelers a new coat. Ong now wants to offer US truck owners the same option for their four-wheelers... (Click here to read the full story)
