SKS Group and Marriott International Inc have signed an agreement to introduce the Four Points by Sheraton brand in Desaru, Johor.
“Sharing the same vision to develop stylish and affordable hotel options, SKS Group and Marriott International will make a great team to bring the Four Points by Sheraton brand to Desaru, one of the most sought-out holiday destinations for visitors and locals alike. With its casual yet comfortable setting, the hotel will be an ideal lodging destination for those who come to explore Desaru,” said SKS Group managing director Cindi Sim in a press release.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with SKS Group. This signing marks another milestone in Marriott International’s continued growth and underscores the brand’s continued demand in Southeast Asia,” said Marriott International Asia-Pacific chief development officer Paul Foskey.
Under the agreement, SKS Group will refurbish and convert its existing 311-room Amansari Residence to Four Points by Sheraton. The hotel is slated to open in 2021.
Four Points by Sheraton Desaru will be located close to major attractions in Desaru, including SKS City Mall — the first shopping mall in Desaru. The hotel is within walking distance to Desaru City Commercial Hub and a 10-minute drive from Desaru Coast, which features an adventure waterpark and 45-hole championship golf course.
It will have an approachable design and timeless style, coupled with genuine service and modern essentials, which will encourage guests to kick back and relax.
Another attraction will be a signature Best Brew programme, which will offer craft beers with authentic flavours and distinctive cultures.
The hotel will be connected to major roads and highways, and easily accessible from the Tanjung Belungkor Ferry Terminal — a ferry hub with a Singapore-Malaysia connection via the Changi Ferry Terminal.
