SINGAPORE (Dec 18): Here are some stocks to watch this Friday morning.

Singapore Airlines will add a sixth daily flight to Bangkok from March 27 next year and increase the frequency of flights to Sri Lanka, Italy, Australia and India. SIA closed 2.2% higher at $11.04.

Golden Land Property Development shareholders have approved Frasers Centrepoint’s proposed acquisition of 29.5% of its enlarged share capital through a 4.97 billion baht ($196 million) new capital injection. Listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, Golden Land is one of the country’s leading real estate developers engaged in residential and commercial property development, as well as property management and property advisory services.

mm2 Asia has entered into an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Millinillion, a tech start-up developing interactive solutions for digital users globally. mm2 and Millinillion will jointly develop a series of mobile applications in data-based marketing, music and industry talent pool management. mm2 Asia will acquire 466,667 new shares in Millinillion or 70% of the issued share capital of Millinillion for $350,000. Shares in mm2 Asia closed 4.17% higher at 87.5 cents Thursday.

Mencast Holdings says its energy services division has renewed its service contract with the Asian headquarter of an oil supermajor for environmental remediation services for another three years. Together, it is estimated that the two contracts will generate revenue of around $20 million for the energy services division over the next three years. Shares in Mencast closed 7.84% lower at 23.5 cents.

CMC Infocomm expects to report a net loss for 1H2016. The net loss was primarily due to substantial one-off professional fees incurred in relation to the initial public offering exercise when after the company was listed on the Catalist board on Aug 13. Shares in CMC Infocomm closed flat at 15.1 cents.

Singapore Myanmar Investco (SMI) has entered into a joint-venture agreement with Japan-listed logistics group Senko Co to to provide logistics and warehousing services in Myanmar to a growing base of domestic and international customers across various industries. Shares in SMI closed flat at 40 cents.

Markets

US stocks dropped Thursday on persistent concern over faltering global economic growth, led by declines in energy and materials shares, a day after shares had rallied on the Federal Reserve's decision to raise interest rates. The Dow Jones industrial average fell 253.25 points, or 1.43%, to 17,495.84, the S&P 500 lost 31.18 points, or 1.5%, to 2,041.89 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 68.58 points, or 1.35%, to 5,002.55.

The Straits Times Index ended the day 0.71% higher at 2,861.18, after trading between 2,833.57 and 2,868.87. Market breadth was positive. Excluding warrants, gainers outnumbered decliners 226 to 164. A total of 921.5 million shares worth about $1.06 billion changed hands, giving an average of $1.15 per share for the entire market.
