KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 6): Shell Refining Company (Federation of Malaya) Bhd is proposing to change its name to Hengyuan Refining Company Bhd.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Shell Refining said the new name has obtained the nod of the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM), and is subject to the approval of shareholders at an extraordinary general meeting on Feb 28.

“The proposed change of name, if approved by the shareholders, will take effect from the date of the Notice of Registration of New Name to be issued by the CCM to the Company,” Shell Refining said.

Shell Refining’s share price closed 1.1% higher at RM2.86, valuing the company at RM858 million.
