KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 21): The Securities Commission’s (SC) learning arm Securities Industry Development Corp (SIDC) has centralised the Industry Competency Framework (ICF), assessment and development activities on an online platform, dubbed the capital market Competency Management System (CMS).

Launched today, the CMS allows the assessment of competencies as prescribed by the ICF and the identification of specific learning and development interventions for capital market professionals, the SC said in a statement.

To recap, ICF — launhced in 2017 — offers 58 competency titles, covering 105 job roles across the main regulated activities.

“Based on the ICF, the CMS empowers individuals and corporations to assess and identify their own or their employees’ existing competency levels and development areas,” SC said.

“The CMS will feature the ICF repository, a Self-Assessment Tool, and a personalised development guide (the Development Advisor), based on the individual’s self-assessment report that includes suggested training courses, as well as self-directed learning elements,” it added.

SIDC CEO, Sharifatul Hanizah Said Ali, called for the participation and support of industry players towards the initiative, which is aimed to produce future-ready capital market professionals.

“Not only [will] future employees will be able to get themselves ready for the market, but the culture of lifelong learning is ingrained in the mindset of existing employees,” she said.
