SINGAPORE (April 22): Scoot has announced flights to three Indian cities.

Scoot, the medium-haul budget carrier unit of Singapore Airlines, will fly to the northern Indian cities of Amritsar and Jaipur, and take over a flight to Chennai in the south from sister carrier Tigerair.

Both Amritsar and Jaipur are new destinations for the SIA group as it seeks to take advantage of a rapidly growing aviation market in India.

The flights also exemplifies SIA’s strategy of greater collaboration among its four brands and focus on key markets that include India, China, Australia and Southeast Asia.

At 1.24pm, SIA shares are down 0.17% at $11.58.
