KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 15): Power cable and wire producer Sarawak Cable Bhd (SCable) has announced that Datuk Ahmad Redza Abdullah will step down from his position as executive director and group managing director at the end of this year after 13 years at the company.

In a bourse filing on Thursday, SCable said Ahmad Redza, 59, is retiring effective Dec 31. The company did not say who will succeed him.

He was appointed to the board of SCable as independent non-executive director in October 2009. He was then appointed as the executive director in January 2018. He was appointed as managing director in March 2018 before being re-designated as group managing director in April last year.

According to SCable's annual report 2020, Ahmad Redza was the deputy managing partner of Messrs Shahrizat Rashid & Lee and head of litigation and dispute resolution up until 2017. He has extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation and was lead counsel for the firm.

Currently, he sits on the board of several private limited companies in Malaysia.

SCable shares closed unchanged at 12 sen today, bringing it a market capitalisation of RM45.88 million.
