Sapura Resources appoints former Malaysia Airlines CEO Ahmad Jauhari as non-exec director

KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 19): Sapura Resources Bhd has appointed former Malaysian Airline System Bhd’s group chief executive officer Ahmad Jauhari Yahya to the board of the group as an independent and non-executive director, effective today.

Jauhari was also appointed to the board nomination and remuneration committee.

He has a wide and diverse working experience in various industries, which include oil and gas, media publication, power generation, gas utilities and telecommunications and information technology.

He had previously held positions in ESSO Malaysia Bhd (now known as Petron Malaysia Refining & Marketing Bhd), New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd, Time Engineering Bhd (now known as Dagang Nexchange Bhd), Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd, as well as Malakoff Bhd.

Jauhari currently also holds the independent non-executive director position at Taliworks Corp Bhd.

Sapura Resources, a subsidiary of Sapura Group that is involved in the property, aviation and education sector, closed 10.4% or 14 sen higher at RM1.49 today, with 2.09 million shares traded. It had a market capitalisation of RM188.5 million.
