KUALA LUMPUR (June 23): SAM Engineering & Equipment (M) Bhd rose as much 5.16% or 26 sen today following its announcement yesterday that it plans to pay total dividends of 32.2 sen per share.

As at 10.35am, SAM rose 23 sen to RM5.27, making it the largest gainer in today’s morning trade session.

Yesterday, SAM (fundamental: 2.5; valuation: 2.6) said the single-tier dividends will comprise an interim dividend of 11.94 sen and a special portion of 20.26 sen, after reporting higher profit for its financial year 2015 (FY15).

The group’s cumulative net profit for FY15 was higher at RM34.63 million compared with RM28.32 million in FY14.
