UK developer Galliard Homes, in partnership with Cathedral Group, is launching its new project, the 336- unit Royal Gateway project (above), simultaneously in London and Singapore. Royal Gateway is located near the Royal Docks area, one of the largest master-planned regeneration schemes in London. Upon completion in 3Q2016, the Royal Gateway will have five apartment blocks comprising a mix of studios, one- to three-bedroom apartments, and two-bedroom duplex penthouses. Units measure 538 to 1,055 sq ft. Upper-level apartments and penthouses are expected to command views of the Royal Docks and London’s skyline, according to the developer. There will also be 13 commercial units, with pedestrianised walkways that will create a new “Borough Market” atmosphere for the entire community.

Royal Gateway is located within a three- to five-minute walk to the Canning Town DLR station; the new Crossrail interchange at Custom House will be a 15-minute walk away, or a short ride from the DLR station. The Crossrail is scheduled to be operational in 2018.

Last year, the mayor of London, Boris Johnson, announced a £1 billion deal with Chinese developer, ABP China (Holdings), to transform a 35-acre site at Royal Albert Dock in the Royal Docks area into a new business district and a gateway for Asian and Chinese businesses seeking to set up their European headquarters in London.

According to Royal Gateway’s marketing agent Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), 84 units will be released in Asia — from Feb 14 to 16 in Singapore, and the following weekend in Hong Kong. Prices range from £250,000 ($523,114) for a studio to £675,000 for a three-bedroom penthouse. The project has attracted a mix of new and seasoned investors in Singapore, says JLL. The project will be launched in Singapore at the St Regis Hotel from Feb 14 to 16.
