KUALA LUMPUR: The much-anticipated RHB Langkawi Ride 2020, scheduled to take place on April 11 next year, is now open for registration for both local and international cyclists.
The event is expected to attract more than 1,200 cyclists and participants will get to choose to take part in one of three routes — the 100km Eagle Ride, 75km Heritage Ride, or the 25km Adventure Ride designed for beginners.
RHB Banking Group said the ride is back to offer amateur and professional cycling enthusiasts an exciting and scenic riding experience around the beautiful island of Langkawi, following the success of the maiden ride in April this year.
"Carefully selected routes will provide cyclists a challenging yet fun-filled ride across undulating and scenic terrain. The island presents cyclists with various road gradients and wind resistance, as well as the gravitational pull down some steep slopes for a wholesome and enjoyable ride," the banking group said in a statement today.
And as part of RHB’s Health and Wellness Ecosystem, the organiser has partnered with more than 20 merchants to offer participants and customers promotional deals at cycling and healthy living-related stores. So those holding RHB credit and debit cards will now be able to enjoy discounts of up to 20% at selected outlets, nationwide.
To register online, participants can log on to www.rhblangkawiride2020.com. Registration closes on Feb 29, 2020, or upon reaching the participation limit of 1,200 cyclists.
Early bird registration closes on December 28 with Special Early Bird rates applicable to all ride categories — at RM140 for the Eagle Ride, RM120 for the Heritage Ride and RM30 for the Adventure ride.
Corporate participation is encouraged, at a nominal fee of RM1,000 per team of five.
