KUALA LUMPUR: TC Euro Cars Sdn Bhd, the sales and marketing arm for Renault vehicles here, is targeting to sell 20 units of its new Laguna Coupe luxury sports car in Malaysia this year, as it strives to position itself as a niche brand in the market.

Its head of operations Kuan Kim Luen said that the model is Renault’s maiden foray into the luxury sports D-segment in Malaysia and is targeted towards a clientele who “are looking for something different”.

“The Laguna Coupe is the first luxury sports model that Renault is introducing in Malaysia. It is targeted towards discerning individuals who are looking for a luxury sports car that is different and sophisticated,” said Kuan at the launch on May 6.

Laguna Coupe is the second Renault model launched here after the Koleus sports utility vehicle (SUV) which was launched in March this year.

TC Euro is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tan Chong Motor Holdings Bhd.

The Laguna Coupe comes with a 2.0 turbo 170hp engine and has 270Nm of torque power. It is also equipped with 10 Bose speakers and features keyless ignition. The Laguna Coupe can be viewed at its main showroom in Section 14, Petaling Jaya and is priced at RM259,868 without insurance.
