KUALA LUMPUR (Aug 19): Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah said she had always wanted to tour the Cappadocia region in Turkey and that she wants to buy a rock-cut house there.

“I always wanted to tour Cappadocia. I really would like to have had this visit happen before, but now is the time I could find an opportunity," the Queen said.

Highlighting that she loved the location so much, she said: “I want to buy a rock-cut place in the region and live there”.

“Here is so beautiful,” she was quoted by Hürriyet Daily News as telling journalists on Wednesday (Aug 17) in Cappadocia.

Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and the Raja Permaisuri Agong are on a seven-day state visit to Turkey since Monday (Aug 15).

Hürriyet Daily News, which published the news report on Friday (Aug 19), reported that "Malaysia’s Queen has fallen in love with the historical Cappadocia region" on her visit to the site in the Central Anatolia region, and that she said she is seeking a house to buy and live there.

"Following her visit to the historical sites, she talked to Turkish journalists on Aug 17," the news report said.
